1. Barcelona's beaches get ready for Easter Week The Red Cross lifeguard service is ready to go, along with the daily cleaning service, and Guàrdia Urbana (city) police officers will be patrolling the beaches, where bars can now be opened. Remember that, until 31 May, the Nova Mar Bella beach will be affected by stabilisation work being carried out by the Ministry of the Environment.
2. Barcelona's Parks Built in the second half of the 19th century, Parc de la Ciutadella is one of the main green spaces in Barcelona. For many years it was the only one in the city and one of the first to be designed specifically to be used as a public park. Parc de la Ciutadella is one of the places with the most leisure and cultural activities in the city. A good example of this is the jazz programme held every year between June and September. The park also contains museums, the Parliament of Catalonia and numerous sculptures.
3. Barcelona fashion tooks to the street On Friday 24 April took place the second BCN Moda catwalk at the Sagrada Família-Gaudí shopping area, organised by the Fundació Barcelona Comerç with the aim of bringing fashion in Barcelona shops closer to the public. The aim was to show shoppers the fashion items they can find in their local shops, while establishing the parades in the city calendar. The only requirement was that the items on show have to be bought in under ten minutes from where the fashion parade took place.
4. Six metro stations to be re-modelled in Barcelona The Government have given permission to totally renovate six major stations in Barcelona. The renovations will ease access and speed up passenger transfers and make for easier access for disabled. Four of the the stations are Verdaguer, Placa de Sants, Clot, and Maragall. HOT DEALS!

2. Barcelona’s Renfe (trains) and Tourist Buses Unite to bring cheaper tickets The municipal transport company of Barcelona (TMB) and Renfe, have signed an agreement that will allow the creation of a combined ticket for tourists which will include travel by train and the Barcelona Tourist Bus. This is a ticket that is intended primarily to tourists staying in hotels in the metropolitan area and residents of major towns around the city. It is a good alternative to the Barcelona Card.
