1. North American newspapers highlight Barcelona's virtues
The Washington Post and The New York Times are publishing several articles on the city, which features as one of the season's best tourist destinations. Both papers describe Barcelona as one of the season's best tourist destinations, pointing to the city's classic attractions, like the Ramblas or Gaudí's legacy, while also mentioning such things as the public cycle hire service Bicing.
2. Barcelona shows its commitment to electric vehicles
Barcelona will be a world model for incorporating electric vehicles. Barcelona could soon become a world model in electric vehicles. And that is because it has decided to launch the LIVE Project (Logistics for Establishing Electric Vehicles in Barcelona), which provides for the incorporation of a city network of battery chargers for electric vehicles and the gradual inclusion of these types of vehicles into municipal services.
3. Congratulations, champions!
FC Barcelona has come to the end of a historic season in which it picked up a hat-trick of titles, with the Spanish League, the King's Cup and the Champions League Josep Guardiola's Barcelona FC has made history. Barça has won the Champions League title after defeating Manchester United 2-0 at Rome's Olympic stadium, with goals by Eto'o and Messi.
4. Barcelona, capital of extreme sports
200 professionals will be taking part in the event, with each showing off their skills in the various sports events that will be held as part of a spectacular display at the Parc del Fòrum. For the first weekend of June, Barcelona will once again be the centre of attention with the Movistar Barcelona Extreme festival, a festival that will bring the very best national and international professionals in such sporting fields as skateboarding, BMX, inline skating, FMX, wakeboarding, jibbing, and longboarding to the city.

1. Cindy Lauper is going to perform in Barcelona for the first time
The singer, an 80s icon, will be one of the main acts playing at the summer concert season on at the Poble Espanyol, Montjuic. The '80s diva, with all due respect to Madonna and Kyle Minogue, will be presenting her new album "Bring Ya To The Brink", where the singer of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" will be making her debut in Spain, on 21 July.
2. MADONNA in Barcelona on July 21st 2009
The queen of pop will play at the Estadio Olimpico de Lluis, Montjuic - on July 21st in support of her latest album Hard Candy, which was released last year and has spawned the singles Miles Away, Give It 2 Me and 4 Minutes, the latter of which features Justin Timberlake.

The dream of a personalized sailing cruise is now possible for tourists visiting Barcelona. Everyone can design his own route, enjoy and have a lot of fun during this sailing journey. It is a fantastic experience for relaxing and also to appreciate the nice panoramic views of Barcelona from the sea, while you are sailing along the coastline.
Majorca, Ibiza and the Costa Brava are the most requested headings from Barcelona, although some tourists prefer a day for fishing, and others a dream weekend in one of the islands.
