1. Fundació Arranz-Bravo to Open New Art Space in Barcelona

The Fundació Arranz-Bravo has a collection of 290 of the artists works, of which 97 are paintings (including many large format ones), 59 are drawings and paintings on paper, nine are bronze sculptures (including the bronze and aluminum prototype of El Pont de la Llibertat, which is located at the junction of Rambla de la Marina and Avinguda del Carrilet in L’Hospitalet), one is a polychrome sculpture – L’Acollidora de la Fundació – and 124 are engravings using a variety of techniques (etchings, lithographs and serigraphs). Two theatre sets also form part of the collection.

2. Barcelona's new Terminal T1 to handle 100,00 a day

The new Terminal T1 recently debuted at Barcelona Airport solidifying its position as one of Europe’s top ten airports. Native son Ricardo Bofill, has designed a sleek sword-shaped structure that is flooded with natural light from its floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Some 100,000 passengers a day will pass through the 5.8 million square-foot terminal which is expected to welcome 30 million a year.

3. Barcelona is among Europe's top five cities for business

Barcelona has maintained its position as one of the most competitive cities on the continent. It heads those cities that are not European capitals and is well placed with regard to Asia's main capitals, according to the conclusions of the seventh Barcelona Observatory report, drawn up by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce Economic Studies Office and the City Council Economic Promotion Sector Studies Directorate.

One part of the festivities this year is a Beatles festival which is organized for the night of September 3 as a tribute to a group that is a symbol of the '60s and after conquering the world with their music came to impose its own style of fashion on a whole generation.
