1. A new Metro L9/L10 section is launched

Following the launch of the first stretch of the L9 to Santa Coloma de Gramenet, the L9 branch in Badalona, known as the L10, has now come into operation. This is one of the final points along what will be Europe's longest metro line.

2. Tourism occupancy level up to 75%

The occupancy levels were close to 60%, while the highest figures were concentrated, as usual, during the 1 to 5 April, with an occupation nearly 75%.

3. New Centre of Contemporary Art in Barcelona

The new Centre of Contemporary Art in Barcelona partially opens. The new Centre of Contemporary Art in Barcelona opened today with the exhibition "Canódromo 00:00:00", the result of a design competition for visual artists organized by CONCA.

4. Gastronomy as a city's strategic sector

Barcelona's Mayor, Jordi Hereu, held a meeting for the first time with top chefs and business people from the restaurant industry to call on them to promote the Barcelona brand around the world and to offer them help in turning the city into a gastronomic capital.

1. Ryoji Ikeda to light up the Barcelona sky

Sonar and the Barcelona Grec Festival are cooperating for the first time to light up the city on the night of 17 June. A giant installation by Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda will inaugurate Sonar from the Teatre Grec amphitheatre and open the "Panorama Japan" section at the Grec Festival. The artist is also going to offer a show with music and projections.

2. Come to Tibidabo!

3. The MNAC creates a new online collection portal

Thanks to the MNAC's new online collection portal, anyone who wishes to can consult online the 1,900 works on display from the permanent collections of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. What's more, each image will include a technical fact file, with information in three languages: Catalan, Spanish and English. The new website will also allow users to buy digital images.
