1. Sand replacement starts on six of Barcelona's beaches
The Ministry of the Environment is starting to replace 750,000 cubic metres of sand to help regenerate six Barcelona beaches.
From 25 May to mid-June, the Barceloneta, Nova Icària, Bogatell, Mar Bella, Nova Mar Bella and Llevant beaches will have their access points closed to bathers due to the sand replacement work planned by the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs.

2. Another 24Km of Barcelona Bike lanes
Barcelona City Council anounced this summer to build 13 two-way bike lanes, that will involve 24 kilometres.
By the end of the year, Barcelona will have almost 171Km of bike lanes after the construction of the new bi-directional lanes. Thus, the interconnection
of the city districts will be improved.

3. Barcelona retain La Liga crown
FC Barcelona made it four league titles in six seasons as they retained the La Liga crown on the final day of the season with a 4-0 win over Valladolid on Sunday to finish three points ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Barcelona knew one more win would see them crowned champions and after a nervous start the Catalans coasted to victory with Lionel Messi scoring a brace for his 33rd and 34th goals of a terrific season.

1. Ryanair to land in Barcelona
On September 1 the Irish airline Ryanair will start flying out of El Prat airport, from where it will operate a total of 20 routes with a base of five planes and provide employment for 350 people, with an investment of 350 million dollars (284 million euros).
Ryanair will connect El Prat to Brussels (Charleroi), Cagliari, Dublin, Düsseldorf (Weeze), Edinburgh, Oslo (Rygge), Paris (Beauvais), Rome (Ciampino), Venice (Treviso) and Milan (Bergamo) airports.

2. Lady Gaga in Barcelona
Lady Gaga is one of the world's greatest pop phenomena who has sold 11 million albums, and 40 million singles around the world, will perform on December 7th at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
This is part of her world tour "The Monster Ball Tour" to promote her latest album "The Fame Monster".

3. Supertramp Barcelona on the 18 Sept 2010
The British pop group Supertramp has announced that it will tour, without Roger Hodgson, to celebrating 40 years since recording their first album, Supertramp, and will do a tour headlined as ‘Tour 70-10’ which includes 35 performances in eleven European countries, including Barcelona.
The performance will be at the Palau Sant Jordi on the 18 Sept 2010.
