Visits in One Day
Here you will find all the recommended Barcelona Attractions that you can visit in three days. Additionaly, I have also included some other places which you may find very interesting for a visit. They are described at the bottom of the page.

Montjuic
It is a good idea to start in Montjuic and visit the Castle. Walk around and appreciate the astonishing view of Barcelona City from the hill!
You can take a number of good pictures from there while enjoying of the fantastic landscape.
Get there by Metro L3, station Paral-lel, then take the funicular and the Teleferic to the Castle of Montjuic.
Sagrada Familia
This is the Temple of the Holy Family, unfinished masterpiece of Gaudi. It is the most important place of Barcelona to visit.
This is a unique architecture build, still under construction, that you have ever seen. Perhaps the most important Barcelona Attraction.
Take your time, step the stairs, go around, look and enjoy this masterpiece. Do not forget to take extra batteries for your camera!
Parc Guell
Another beautiful Barcelona Attraction. You should not miss this fabulous place located up in a hill, with a beautiful view of Barcelona from the heights.


Here you will also appreciate other very important works of the Master Gaudi, in some cases made with cheap materials, but having an intrinsic beauty, like the multicolored ceramic bench or the temple ceiling. Walk around, up and down, take a sit at the bench, enjoy this oasis and the landscape!

Columbus Monument


This is a bronze statue of the new world discoverer, which is located at the end of Las Ramblas. Inside, you can take the elevator to get to the top and have a fantastic view of the old city and the port. It is worth to try it!
Las Ramblas

This is the most famous avenue in Barcelona downtown. You can walk up and down several times and you will always find it very curious, interesting and unique.
You will find cafes, flowers, human statues, comedians, singers, terraces to take a good Sangria, caged animals, and many other curiosities. Walk with calm, look around, sit at a terrace, take your pictures, and enjoy the spectacle!
Gothic Quarter
This old part of Barcelona City, with its narrow streets, is an attractive quarter whether you go there during day time or by night.

You will see interesting buildings, and in case that you are hungry or thirsty, just take a break at any of the various Restaurants or Bars. You will surely like very much this part of the city.
Gothic Cathedral
This wonderful building is located within the old original Roman town. 

You can take a sit at a terrace nearby and appreciate it with calm while drinking your Sangria and taking nice pictures.
There is a very nice cloister to visit too, with nice palm trees, although you have to pay for the pleasure of seeing this part.
Plaza Catalunya

This is the most emblematic square in the heart of Barcelona, at one end of Las Ramblas. It is a broad place, populated by many pigeons, where you will appreciate the nice fountain, sculptures, and a lot of pedestrians from all around the world.
Take a break and sit at a bench in the square, or even at a terrace, and enjoy while drinking Horchata, a typical refreshing drink derived from a tuber similar to peanut.
Visits in Two Days
Following the Barcelona Attractions of the first day as described above, you can spend half a day by visiting the most important modernist buildings at the heart of Barcelona. I have reserved Tibidabo as a “cool” attraction for the afternoon, especially if you are going around with your children.

Paseo de Gracia
This is a very nice Avenue at Barcelona City center, which starts at Plaza Catalunya and ends at the district of Gracia.
You will appreciate fantastic buildings and also those of the modernist movement.
There are a lot of trendy shops as well as restaurants, terraces and cafes where you can take a break.
Casa Mila (La Pedrera)
This is a beautiful modernist piece by Gaudi which is an important Barcelona Attraction. The curious forms of this building will catch your attention. It is indeed a block of apartments.
Perhaps the most beautiful of Barcelona City. It is made from limestones from Montjuic. Get to the roof and appreciate its magic!
More about Casa Mila (La Pedrera)
Block of Discord
Do not miss this block, because here you will see the pieces of three modernist masters.
Casa Batllo (image), where you will immediately recognize to Gaudi on every detail.
Casa Amatller, from Puig i Cadafalch, with its own style. Casa Lleo Morera, from Domenech i Muntaner, which will surprise you with its forms.
Tibidabo


At the top of this hill of almost 500 meters high, you have the Holy Heart church, a nice fun-fair and, a fantastic panoramic view of Barcelona City and its coast!
If you like adventure, get to Tibidabo by taking the Blue Tram and then the Funicular to the top of the hill. It is a very nice ride!
Visits in Three Days
Following the Barcelona Attractions of the first and second day as described above, now you can spend some time by visiting important and beautiful attractions near and along the coast. Do not miss the Aquarium and Parc de la Ciutadella, especially if you are going around with your children.

Marina


At the north of the main port, you will discover a large marina with lot of vessels. A nice promenade will take you to the Maritime Club, Maremagnum area, with several shops, terraces, restaurants and nightspots, IMAX cinema.

The Aquarium is a beautiful attraction which you should not miss!
Olympic Port and Barceloneta
You should take your time for this special part of Barcelona City. Have a walk along the promenade, discover the beaches, the marina, and all the eating places and nightclubs.
Live the Barceloneta, walk at the palm-lined promenade, stop at any terrace or restaurant and enjoy a delicious seafood dish.
Santa Maria del Mar Church


This beautiful and well preserved Gothic church is one important spot of the Barcelona Attractions which deserves a visit.
You will appreciate the fantastic vaults and also the wonderful windows of this fantastic building. Take your time and enjoy its beauty.
Parc de la Ciutadella
This is a nice place with several attractions. A nice fountain designed by Gaudi will catch your attention because of the big statue. You can row in the lake and visit the Zoo. Just discover the nature!


Do not miss the other attractions like the Castle of the Three Dragons and the Catalan Parliament.

FC Barcelona Stadium and Museum
The Barcelona soccer team is considered the best football team of the world. For the first time in the football history, the FC Barcelona has been the only team in the world that won all of the titles in 2009.

The museum of the Barcelona soccer team and the Camp Nou stadium receive thousand of visitor from all over the world and it is among the most important Barcelona Attractions.
Gaudi Crypt in Colonia Guell
In 1898, Eusebi Guell commissioned Gaudi to design a church for the textile industrial village (Colonia Guell), which was founded by Guell in 1890.

The church known as the Gaudi crypt is another master piece of the architect Antoni Gaudi. It is located at a few kilometers from Barcelona and has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2005. You can get there by train S8, S4 or S33 from Plaza de Espanya. Station: Colonia Guell. The ride takes about 20 minutes.
At the present time, the industrial precinct is occupied by several private companies. Visits are not allowed. You can visit the Gaudi crypt after paying a small fee in the tourist information office located in the village. It is one of those Barcelona Attractions that you should not miss.
Collserola Tower
To cover the needs for the Olympic games in 1992, the city council promoted the project to build an important telecommunication service center. The proposal of the architect Norman Foster was the winner.

The tower height is 266 meters and it has an observation deck on platform 10, where you will have a fantastic view of Barcelona city and surroundings from 560 meters above sea level. To get to the tower, you should take an FGC train to Peu del Funicular, then the funicular to Vallvidrera Superior and the bus 211 (every 30 minutes).
