Costa Brava Beaches

Costa Brava Overview

Costa Brava Beaches are located in the region of Spain Beaches that begin in Barcelona and extends to the North, to the border with France. In order to appreciate the real beauty of these beaches, you have to travel a few Kilometers from Barcelona, direction North. Since I have already detailed Barcelona Beaches, I will not include them here.

You also have the possibility to take a Tour or even Rent a Villa directly in the beach of your choice.

There are also very nice Real Estate properties waiting for you, in the case you are thinking to choose a new place to live the rest of your life, or even as a holiday property.

Read below the short description of the beaches in this region which I have prepared for you and choose your destination!

Blanes

This quiet and little fishing town of the Costa Brava is ideal for a good relax of your mind and body. Ideal for couples and family. Looking for an active living place? Sorry, this is the wrong option.

It is an historic town with old monuments, churches and buildings. You can visit the Castle of Sant Joan and two Botanical Gardens with over 11,000 species. Today you will also find a number of modern hotels and international restaurants.

This resort extends approximately four Kilometers. The coast, as in most cases in this region, is made of small rocky coves and sandy bays. The beaches are not very populated by tourists, so you will have enough room for you at the sun.

Of course, you can choose and take these Tours , that I highly recommend to you for knowing the region. Enjoy!

Lloret de Mar

This is the right place when you are looking for action and a live resort!
It is a very popular holiday spot, with a lot of discos, Bars and beach parties to keep you in form until sunrise. As you can imagine, the beaches are very crowded by tourists. Well, You want action, right?

This was a fishing, ship building and trade town, but today there is not much to see of those years. Modern buildings and hotels, masks its history a little.

But you can still enjoy some traditions and culture of Lloret de Mar, as the fiestas, local cuisine, the traditional folk dance called Sardana, which take place every Saturday night at Plaza de la Vila, during summer period. You can join and practice. Do not miss it!

Of course, you can choose and take these Tours , that I highly recommend to you for knowing the region. Enjoy!

Sant Feliu de Guixols

Nice city, it is situated at the hearth of Costa Brava, with a very good spring climate all over the year. Beautiful landscapes and beaches with cliffs, which give a particular touch of paradise to the beaches. You can have access to some of them only by boat. This town is relative quiet, ideal for families or for a good relaxing holiday.

Beautiful cliffs, beaches, coves and bays of fine sand are there waiting for you. You will appreciate a beautiful sea promenade with nice palm trees along its coast.

Historical church with monastery, museums, theater, buildings and monuments are worth to see and visit.

Good restaurants will serve you a variety of Mediterranean food, based mainly on fish. There are several traditional fish dishes that you have to try. Bon apetit!

Looking for night life? OK, you have to go to Playa de Aro, distant about five minutes by car. You will not have time to get bored!

Of course, you can choose and take these Tours , that I highly recommend to you for knowing the region. Enjoy!

Girona

The city of Girona is not in the Mediterranean coast, but the Costa Brava beaches belonging to its region are just at a few Kilometers from downtown.
Some of the beaches in the surroundings, from North to South, are Portbou, Roses, Begur, Palamos, Sant Feliu de Guixols and Lloret de Mar, among others.

This ancient city grew from the borders of the original Roman layout, still preserved in the old quarter. You will find some interesting buildings, such as the curious wall-top promenade, the monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, Arab Baths and churches.

You have to to see the Jewry, the fabulous mansions, Fontana d`Or, the famous shopping street called Rambla, Plaça dels Apostols, the magnificent gothic Cathedral, Plaça del Raim, the stone bridge that joins the old and new city, the streets of the old quarter.

You can also visit the Cathedral Museum, the Art Museum, the Archaeological Museum, the city History Museum and of course the Cinema Museum with its unique collection. It is worth to visit the historical Girona City, walk around, see the sites. You will love it.

Roses

This is a particular beautiful Mediterranean town with a history of more than three thousand years. It is so nice and located in a privileged place at the bay of the same name, that you will always discover a new corner, a new space where you can enjoy the symbiosis of nature and culture.

You will enjoy the beach, swim, water sports, sailing, going to the surrounding mountains, discover the city history and culture, taking that tasty Mediterranean food or even discovering any beautiful place around. Nobody knows, but it could be the place of your dreams!

It is a very good choice among the Spain Beaches and in particular for the Costa Brava. This tourist city is located at just 30 Kilometers from the border with France, in a privileged place where you will appreciate the diversity of beauty and landscapes that the nature offers to the visitor.

Figueres

This town is not at the Mediterranean coast, but at a few Kilometers from Roses and is an important part of the Costa Brava tourism.

Here is the Dali Museum, one of the three most visited Museums in Spain.
Dali, the surrealist master, set up his Museum which burned out during the Spanish Civil war. He spent some time in this town before his death.

It is a very nice town that allows you to enjoy its beauty, buildings, the surrounding nature and the local cuisine.
Nice beaches, like Roses among others, are at few Kilometers from the town.
